The COVID-19 testing clinic relocated from Errard Street on Monday, 5 July, to 309 Dana Street (cnr. Doveton Street South). This is the building diagonally opposite Harris Scarfe, and was previously the offices of Smith & Jennings Accountants. Entry for the testing clinic is  via Doveton Street Sth only. 

Testing is available for anyone with respiratory symptoms, as well as those meeting the criteria as a close contact of a COVID-19 case (i.e. attended declared exposure sites at the relevant time, or have been contacted by the State Government or the Public Health Unit and advised to get tested and isolate).

We do not provide testing for people with no symptoms who require testing for travel, pre surgery or at the request of their employer as part of a screening program.

If you are newly experiencing any of the following symptoms, it is important to be tested for COVID-19 without delay:

– Fever
– Chills
– Dry cough
– Sore throat
– Runny or stuffy nose
– Shortness of breath
– Loss of sense of smell

The COVID-19 testing clinic in Ballarat is operated by UFS Medical  and is open seven days a week, with appointments available between 9am to 5.30pm on weekdays and from 9am – 4pm on weekends. Testing is free for patients.

A referral is not required. As this is not a walk-up facility, appointments must be made by calling 03 43 11 1571 or by booking an appointment online here

Current pathology result turnaround time is 1 -3 days. Please call us if you have not received your results in that time frame.

Urgent patients including symptomatic *essential workers can be prioritised for testing but must call the clinic on 4311 1571 to book an appointment.

The purpose of the respiratory clinic is to assess, test and diagnose mild-to-moderate respiratory conditions, including COVID-19, influenza and pneumonia. Please note that saliva testing is not offered, as the accuracy of these tests is not as reliable as the swab method. As all patients being tested at this clinic are showing symptoms, it is important that tests are as accurate as possible.
