Implanon contraceptive implants
Implanon is a contraceptive implant inserted under the skin of your upper arm. Implanon releases a progestin hormone from a plastic rod about the size of a matchstick, to prevent pregnancy for up to three years. This is a very effective contraception option as it is easily inserted and removed, removing the need to use other contraception or take regular contraceptive medication.
The following UFS Medical GPs are qualified to insert and remove Implanon implants.
