Dr Viraj Rajaguru

Dr Viraj Rajaguru is an experienced General Practitioner with a distinguished career spanning multiple countries. He graduated from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and later earned his Fellowship (FRACGP) from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

From 2008 to 2016, Dr Viraj served as a Medical Officer in Sri Lanka before relocating to England, where he worked in Emergency Medicine at an NHS hospital. In 2018, he moved to Australia and joined Swan Hill District Health, practicing as both a General Practitioner and an Emergency Medicine Doctor.

In 2022, Dr Viraj relocated to Ballarat with his young family and has since become a valued member of the local healthcare community as a dedicated General Practitioner. In addition to his work in general practice, Dr. Viraj serves as a doctor at the Ballarat Medicare Urgent Care Clinic.

Dr Viraj is skilled in managing all aspects of general practice, including chronic medical conditions, skin cancer surgeries, conducting full body comprehensive skin checks, women’s health, mental health care, and kids’ health (paediatrics). He is committed to a patient-centred approach, focusing on empowering his patients with education and comprehensive support.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr Viraj has a strong background in teaching, mentoring medical students, and supervising junior doctors.

Beyond his professional commitments, Viraj enjoys spending with his family, cycling, swimming, and gardening.

He is currently welcoming new patients at Lucas UFS Medical.
