Dr Paul Kurian relocated to Australia in July 2014 with his young family to work with Windermere St UFS Medical as a GP. Dr Kurian has previously worked in Scotland, UK for eleven years combining hospital practice and general practice. In addition to a wealth of GP experience, Dr Kurian also has a combined nine years of UK hospital experience in cardiology, emergency medicine, psychiatry, paediatrics and geriatric medicine.

Dr Kurian has a special interest in diabetes, chronic disease management, mental health and minor surgery. Dr Kurian is available Monday to Friday at Windermere St UFS Medical.

Dr Beata grew up in Melbourne, studied at Monash University and worked as a Respiratory Scientist and Research Assistant, before completing her Postgraduate Medical Degree in Warsaw, Poland.

After completing her Medical Degree she practiced as a GP in Scotland for several years, prior to relocating back to Victoria, where we are pleased to welcome her as part of the team at Windermere St UFS Medical.

Dr Beata has a special interest in Paediatrics, Respiratory medicine, Women’s health and the Elderly, and is happy to invite all patients.

Dr Shantini Rasiah joined Windermere Street UFS Medical at the end of February 2023 and is welcoming new patients. Dr Rasiah is an experienced Specialist General Practitioner, who has been working in Malaysia since 2007, as a GP since 2012 and in Melbourne since 2018. She has recently moved to Ballarat with her young family. Dr Shantini is currently pursuing further studies in skin cancer management. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages, especially those with a good sense of humour.

Dr Javed Ahmad moved from Perth to Ballarat with his wife (GP) and two young sons in 2014. Dr Ahmad worked in different hospitals including Royal Perth Hospital, Fremantle Hospital, and Princess Margaret Hospital for Children. Javed has been working at Ballarat Base Hospital, St John of God Health Care, Ballarat, and Box Hill Hospital in Victoria. Javed has vast medical experience in general practice, emergency medicine, intensive care, general surgery, and internal medicine. Javed has also worked in paediatrics, gynaecology & obstetrics, and orthopaedics.

Dr Ahmad has extraordinary academic achievements with two specialist Fellowship qualifications in General Practice in Australia, a postgraduate Advanced Emergency Medicine Diploma from the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine, and two General Surgery postgraduate qualifications from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK) and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan.

Dr Ahmad’s special interests include all aspects of general practice including chronic and complex disease management, men’s, women’s, and children’s health, mental health, preventive care, surgical procedures (excisions) and iron infusions.

Dr Ahmad is welcoming new patients and has split his work between general practice and the local hospital. Dr Ahmad is a passionate doctor with holistic patient care and puts a higher emphasis on preventive medicine.

Outside of work, Dr Ahmad enjoys running, jogging, and sports/cricket, and has two cats.
